These terms form an agreement between you and Forty Two Services ("we", "us"), the company that operates manzil. They cover what you can expect from manzil and what we expect from you. manzil is currently in private testing, read this as a friendly handshake between an early product and an early user, not as a 30-page enterprise contract.
Who Can Use manzil
- You're 18 or older.
- You have a working Indian mobile number that can receive SMS.
- You'll provide accurate information when you sign up and when you add friends to trips.
Your Account
- Your phone number is your account. Don't share it; don't let someone else sign in on your behalf.
- One device per account at a time. Signing in on a new device signs you out of the old one.
- You can delete your account at any time, see the Privacy Policy for the deletion process.
What You Can and Can't Do
You may:
- Create trips, add friends, log expenses, share location with trip-mates, and (later) post photos and notes inside your trips.
- Export or screenshot your own trip data for your records.
You may not:
- Use manzil to harass, defraud, impersonate, or stalk anyone.
- Spam invite links, scrape other users' data, or attempt to bypass our rate limits.
- Upload illegal content, content you don't have rights to, or content that endangers a minor.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the app.
We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these rules. We'll try to give a heads-up first unless safety requires immediate action.
UPI and Money, manzil Never Moves It
When you settle up with a friend, manzil constructs a UPI deep link using your friend's UPI ID and hands it to your phone's UPI app (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, your bank app, etc.). The actual money movement happens entirely inside that UPI app, between your bank and your friend's bank.
manzil is not a payment processor. We don't hold balances, we don't escrow funds, we don't take a cut. If a payment fails or arrives wrong, that's between you, your friend, and your banks, manzil has nothing to refund because we never had the money.
Your Content
- You own what you put in. Trip notes, photos, expenses, yours.
- You give manzil a limited license to display it. Only as needed to show your content to the trip-mates you've added to the same trip. We don't show your content outside your trips, we don't show it to non-members, and we don't use it for marketing.
- You're responsible for what you upload. If you post photos of friends, they need to be okay with it. If you log an expense, the amount and split should reflect reality.
Service Availability
While we're in private testing, manzil is offered as-is, with no service-level guarantee. We may pause the service for maintenance, push breaking updates, or (rarely) wipe test data with at least 7 days' notice. We'll always let you export your data first if it comes to that.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent allowed by Indian law: manzil is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, missed flights, ruined trips, money paid to the wrong UPI ID, photos that didn't upload. Use the app like you'd use any group-coordination tool: as a helper, not as a final source of truth for high-stakes decisions.
Changes to These Terms
If we change these terms in a way that materially affects you, we'll notify you in-app and at the email/phone on your account before the change takes effect. Continued use after the notice period counts as acceptance. If you don't accept, you can delete your account.
Governing Law
These terms are an agreement between you and Forty Two Services, governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at New Delhi.
